Amber Fort was constructed in 1592 AD by Raja Man Singh, the Rajput commander of Akbar's army. Later, Maan singh started to rule the area surrounding the fort which was called as the Amer state. It was expanded and renovated by Raja Jai Sigh I. The fort is now called as the Amer fort and the city is called as Jaipur, Situated at a distance of 11 km from the city, it carries the pride of Jaipur.
Set amidst the hills and overlooking the Maota Lake, Amer Palace is the finest example of Indo-Islamic architecture. Constructed of red sandstone and marble, the attractive, opulent palace is laid out on four levels, each with a courtyard. It consists of the Diwan-e-Aam, or "Hall of Public Audience", the Diwan-e-Khas, or "Hall of Private Audience", the Sheesh Mahal (mirror palace), or Jai Mandir, and the Sukh Niwas where a cool climate is artificially created by winds that blow over a water cascade within the palace.

How To Reach Amer Fort:

This attraction is only 11 km from the main Jaipur city. You can book a cab to reach there and after reaching you can take the Elephant ride to reach Amer fort and can make your trip enough memorable. To experience great elephant ride you will have to reach there early morning.

Timing :

Visiting time - Morning 9 to Evening 6.
Elephant Ride - Morning 9.30 to Afternoon 1.
Light Show - 8 pm (In Hindi) and 7.30 pm (In English)
