Mehrangarh Fort of jodhpur is one of the largest forts in the country. This fort is associated with its splendid architecture and diverse history. Mehrangarh fort was built by Rao Jodha in the year 1459 and is spread over an area of 5 km. There are seven gates, which can be used to enter the Mehrangarh fort that includes Victory Gate, Fateh Gate, Gopal Gate, Bhairon Gate, Dedh Kamgra Gate, Marti Gate and finally Loha Gate. These gates were made by different rulers and serves specific purposes. The fort has also splendid palaces such as Sheesh Mahal (Glass Palace) and Phool Mahal (Rose Palace). One can see the panoramic view of the beautiful Jodhpur city from this fort, which seems like a blue carpet laid at the foot of a hill. mehrangarh fort also have a museum inside it that includes royal costumes, arms, furniture, paintings, musical instruments etc.

Once you are in city, you can book cab to reach there or if you want to experience how local people commute, you can take auto rikshaw also.
